Props for Heroes Rugby Challenge named
The props who will scrum down against each other for the ‘Heroes Rugby Challenge’ have today been announced!
Northern Hemisphere XV
Tighthead Prop: Tom Smith (former British/Irish Lion & Scotland)
Loosehead Prop: Akvsenti Giorgadze (Castres & Georgia)
Replacements: Duncan Bell (Bath & England)
Southern Hemisphere XV
Tighthead Prop: Jo Tuala (New Zealand Navy)
Loosehead Prop: Sona Taumalolo (Hawke’s Bay & Tonga)
The players join two squads selected from the northern and southern hemisphere professional game, the best players from the Armed Forces and a number of former greats of the international game.
Tom Smith, who was capped 61 times for Scotland and earned six caps for the British & Irish Lions, said:
“It was always going to have to be special game to persuade me to blow the dust off my rugby boots and the Heroes Rugby Challenge is just that”
